YH5WZ-51/134 Zinc Oxide Surge Arrester
Available for 35kV power distribution systems and related outdoor electrical installations. Electrical characteristics, housing dimensions, and mounting configuration should be confirmed according to the protected equipment and project requirements.
How to Select the Right Surge Arrester
System voltage is only the starting point. A suitable surge arrester should also be selected according to the grounding method, protected equipment, temporary overvoltage conditions, installation environment, and mounting requirements.
Provide the information currently available. If some specifications are not yet confirmed, send us the existing model, nameplate photo, or application details for review.
Electrical System
Provide the nominal system voltage, frequency, and available arrester ratings. If known, include the maximum continuous operating voltage and temporary overvoltage conditions.
System Grounding
Confirm whether the system neutral is effectively grounded, resistance grounded, isolated, or uses another grounding arrangement.
Equipment & Installation
Tell us what equipment requires protection and where the arrester will be installed, such as a transformer, switchgear, distribution line, motor, capacitor bank, or control cabinet.
Environment & Project Details
Provide the installation altitude, ambient temperature, pollution conditions, required housing structure, quantity, and target delivery date where applicable.
Surge Protection for Power Distribution & Electrical Equipment
Our low-voltage, 10kV, and 35kV surge arrester models support overvoltage protection across power distribution systems, electrical equipment, and industrial installations. The appropriate model depends on the system voltage, grounding method, protected equipment, and installation conditions.
Power Distribution Networks
Surge arresters support the protection of distribution lines and connected electrical equipment against lightning and switching overvoltage.
Transformer Protection
Installed near transformer terminals, surge arresters can help limit incoming overvoltage and support transformer insulation protection.
Switchgear & Substations
Surge arrester configurations are available for medium-voltage switchgear, distribution cabinets, and related substation equipment.
Low-Voltage Electrical Equipment
Compact low-voltage models are available for switch cabinets, control panels, distribution equipment, and other 220V or 380V electrical systems.
Surge Arrester Production & Quality Control

Surge Arrester Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about model selection, replacement, specifications, documents, samples, and ordering.
1. How do I select the right surge arrester model?
Model selection should consider more than the nominal system voltage. Please also confirm the grounding method, maximum continuous operating voltage, protected equipment, installation environment, mounting dimensions, and any existing protection requirements.
If you are unsure, send us the system information, existing model, nameplate photo, or technical drawing. We will review the available information and help identify a suitable option.
2. What information should I provide for model confirmation?
For a faster review, please provide the following information where available:
- System voltage and frequency
- Grounding method
- Protected equipment
- Required rated voltage and MCOV
- Indoor or outdoor installation
- Mounting dimensions or drawing
- Existing model or nameplate photo
- Required quantity and delivery date
You do not need to have every specification confirmed before contacting us.
3. Can you help replace an existing surge arrester model?
Yes. Please send the complete model number, a clear nameplate photo, full product photos, terminal and mounting details, and installation dimensions.
We will compare the available electrical and mechanical information with our existing models. A replacement should not be confirmed by appearance or system voltage alone.
4. What voltage ranges and models are currently available?
Our current range covers low-voltage models for 220V and 380V systems, multiple 10kV zinc oxide surge arrester configurations, and a 35kV model range.
Availability, electrical ratings, housing structure, terminals, and mounting dimensions should be confirmed for the required model and order quantity.
5. Can you provide drawings, datasheets, or test documents?
Available product drawings, dimensional information, technical datasheets, test data, and compliance documents can be provided according to the selected model.
Document availability varies by model. If your project requires a specific standard, test item, language, or document format, please confirm the requirement before ordering.
6. Are samples available before a production order?
Sample availability depends on the model, current stock, quantity, and any required configuration. Standard models may be available more quickly, while special structures or specifications may require additional preparation.
Send us the required model and application information so we can confirm the sample cost and estimated lead time.
7. What is the typical production lead time?
Lead time depends on the selected model, order quantity, current production schedule, document requirements, and whether any special configuration is required.
Please provide the model, quantity, required documents, and target delivery date. We will confirm the available production and shipment schedule before the order is placed.
